Fall Discovery

In this six week art session, children will explore this wondrous season of change, Fall.  This Fall discovery art class will be bringing the outdoors in.  Children will not only create a variety of hands-on Fall process art activities, they will also be enriched with the characteristics of the Fall season.  The children will be experimenting and become familiarized with the warm colors of Fall.  Your child will experience such activities as nature mobiles, leaf rubbings, nature collages, pet rocks, nature sculptures, bird-feeders, Fall treasure boxes, and texture paintings with leaves, sticks, pinecones, shell, mud, sand, etc.  In this exciting season there is so much going on… we get spooked on Halloween with spiders, cauldrons and broomsticks.  In this Fall discovery art class we will also talk about the spooktacular holiday of Halloween and during that week we will also enjoy such activities as spider web making, pumpkin painting, stamping, stickers and glitter collages. As well as Halloween, we have the holiday of Thanksgiving.  The week before Thanksgiving we will be also talking about thankfulness, harvest, and enjoying such art activities as hand-print turkeys, gourd rolling, corn roll painting, and pinecone turkeys.  These are some of the many activities that your children will be embarking on during this exciting and stimulating journey through the wondrous Fall season.  Each class starts and ends with a circle time where the children (and for mothers in the Mommy & Me classes) get a chance to get to know each other.  This builds self-esteem and self-identity for each child.  We will introduce each art activity through examples, stories, books, finger plays, games or songs. Each class will end with a child sharing their self through an expression of art.

This class will surely stimulate your child’s brain, cultivate their socialization skills and develop you child’s fine-motor skills through many hands-on sensory opportunities and develop their own artistic interpretations. Come celebrate the warm, giving, ever-changing and spooktacular season of Fall with me!
